Now that I have a sister, I have to make sure she isn't better than me. I have been soooo good in classes, agility and Rally, these past two weeks, that Diane can't believe her eyes. Yup. I won't have that little upstart outperform me. Focus, you say. No problem. Backside jumping. A breeze. Right side heeling. No sweat. Anything Diane throws at me these days, I do with a bounce in my step. Diane says there's nothing like a little sibling rivalry to bring out the best in a silly Corgi boy. I guess that would be me!
Now that the weather is nice and warm, we can train in our back yard. Today was our contacts and weaves day. I practiced the teeter, the dogwalk and 12 weaves. I was really good! The teeter is only once notch from full height now. Diane says I'm really brave. I just started to learn the dogwalk last week. It isn't very high yet. Only 2 ft. I run off the end without jumping! So far, so good, Diane says. And my weaves are fast. Especially if Diane throws a ball at the end.
I have a new sister. She was my Easter present. She is the best present ever! I love her so much. Finally I have someone to play with me. I've been so busy with her that I forgot to brag about my weekend at the CARO trial. I got my Novice title. Diane was very happy with me. I don't really know what the title stuff is all about. All I know is that I had a whole lot of fun with Diane and she seemed really happy. I got lots of cookies. Visited lots of people. I got a prize and a bunch of ribbons. The ribbons were kind of boring but the prize was edible! I'm such a lucky Yodel!
Better late than never, I guess. Yodel and I are doing some jump drill work these days. His jump skills aren't as good as Kiwi's yet, but he does have a nice start line stay! It sounds as though he ticks the last bar on the last drill. Didn't drop the bar though!
It's a good thing I've started to record these sessions! A definite change needed. Shorten the stride. Quicken the pace.

AuthorMy name is Diane and I share my life with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi named Yodel. Yodel is my third Cardi and he is just wonderful. He is still quite young and doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up. For now he is learning agility and Rally obedience. My previous Cardigans, Pekoe and Kiwi, were accomplished obedience and agility dogs. Maybe Yodel will follow in their footsteps. Archives
