April 4, 1999 - April 23, 2013
Pekoe was an oversized, happy-go-lucky, charismatic Cardi boy who changed my life forever. He greeted each day with joyful pig-like grunts accompanied by full body wiggles. He expected, and received, belly rubs, tickles and an abundance of love. He believed that the world was his oyster, everyone was his friend and that there was always one more cookie in that pocket. He pranced through life with a silly doggie smile and the world smiled back at him. Really.
I could talk about his accomplishments in the ring, but I
think there were more important achievements. He made us happy. He opened doors to new adventures. He opened our hearts to new friends. He taught me that teamwork was fun. And he taught me that having fun was more important than winning. I am a better person for having shared my life with him and I will cherish my memories of him forever.
Pekoe died peacefully at home in my arms with Uli and Kiwi by my side.
Good boy, Pekoe. That’ll do.
