This is Pekoe enjoying his walk on the morning of his 13th birthday. He met lots of people and dogs, played with his Flappy and received many mini treats from Diane. We'll be celebrating in fine style on Sunday with a combined Easter and Birthday party.

If there is one big plus about Cardigans, it's that it is really easy to get their attention. All one needs to do is hint at the prospect of a cookie (or a ball toss, for that matter) and they are 100 percent focused. Yup. Here they are staring at Uli adoringly as he reaches into his pocket. Ready to do anything for a crumb.

We've just had a wonderful romp on the beach and now we're (that is to say, Kiwi and I are) waiting patiently in the car while Uli does the grocery shopping. Really, Diane. I don't need the hat. Can't you find some other way to amuse yourself! 

Kiwi is the proud owner of a screaming, flying monkey. It originally belonged to her friends Sassy and Lark, but Cathy made the mistake of bringing it over one day for Kiwi to see. Surprise, surprise. Kiwi fell in love with it. And Cathy kindly said she could keep it! Kiwi protects her monkey with great enthusiasm. Of course, she particularly enjoys making it produce those jungle monkey noises. Silly me. I thought she would be terrifed by such a thing. Here she is on a super bright winter's day, carrying her monkey around the yard. I guess she's going to need a pair of sunglasses.

Pekoe's favorite is still a hedgehog shaped toy that makes those great oinky sounds! When he was young he would spend at least two days burying the toy, digging it up, moving it to a safer location, burying it again, worrying about it for half an hour or so, digging it up, finding yet another safe spot ...  He no longer has the stamina to persevere for a couple of days, but he still follows the same ritual. Of course, since Kiwi joined the family he has had to worry about her finding his toy. Protecting one's oinky is a really big job!

Wild horses roam the riverbed almost every day lately. Pekoe and Kiwi really, really want to chase them, but the best they can do is bark from a distance and pretend to herd from our side of the fence. Pretty good entertainment for a couple of corgis!

At the age of six, Kiwi had her first play date! Yup. She and Sassy met at the park for a good game of chase. They had a blast! As usual, forgot the camera!

Another day of misery! Why oh why does She insist we do this! It's sooo sloow. And as for staying in one spot while She trots away or strolls across the room, it's just for the birds. I do NOT see the point. Then, then ... after two days of torture, She wanted me to pose for pictures with some stupid strips of fabric. What's that all about?! And if She wants me to sit, down, stay etc etc, She has got to stop rambling on about that perfect Pekoe. For heaven's sake. Hasn't She ever heard of sibling rivalry. I'm going to curl up on my bean bag chair and have a nap. She can go amuse herself with the laundry or something. See how much fun she'll have doing that!

My friends all had a good time though! The Larkster was a Larkstar. She loves to keep Cathy on her toes. Yogibear, Ava, Sassy and Jemma had a blast. Go figure.
